The story

What lies behind the shapes.

The circle and the pip were borrowed from a more complex pattern to create a lighter rhythm of shapes.

Working with tile patterns taught me that a tile is not a thing in itself, it's a relationship to its neighbour... and just like any neighbourhood, some drink coffee together and some throw pebbles in your pool. I think these two shapes make wonderful neighbours that complement each other and make a space a little more interesting, and slightly less twenty-first-century.

The shapes

The pieces that lock together.

All of my tiles are cut from hand-rolled slabs with tile cutters I designed myself.
